Hey! The Growness worktalk yesterday touched on something so foundational for me. Watch the recording here. Lots of great questions came up in the space. Two things came up for me. 1) Mainstream Culture = Consumer Culture = NOT Regenerative 2) What you want to exist in the world is the source of your Growness Consumer Culture is a adolescent, vampiristic, blood-sucking orientation. There are only two industries that call their clients "USERS":
These industries are very clear about their purpose. To create addicts. To make the users addicted to their product. More human attention = More money profit. Look at Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc. Their main goal is to hook their users to their product for as long and passionately as they can. If you're not clear about what culture you're inhabiting, you're likely inhabiting mainstream consumer culture. Growness is not about serving a consumer, or consuming and being consumed. Growness is about creating creators. The first step to creating a Growness is... Getting really clear about what you want to exist in the world. The second step is: Finding your team. The shift from Business (money-oriented) to Growness (regeneration) is massive. And, it takes conscious effort, inner-work, emotional healing processes and teamwork to make this shift.
