I've been listening to the audiobook Grandfather from Tom Brown Jr. This book, narrated by the author, is a gem for those seeking for answers about: ~ The role of human beings on Earth ~ What did it look like in north america before and while modern culture started taking over? ~ How is survival and living connected? ~ Are human beings a life taking parasite species? ~ What is really going on beyond what we were taught in school? ~ How do I live my vision and purpose? In the book, Grandfather makes a distinction between: ~ White Man's Survival (I call it Modern Culture's Survival) ~ Indigenous Survival (I call it Regenerative Survival) The way Grandfather's people approached surviving was life giving. When they took a branch from the forest to make an arrow they considered: ~ If I take this branch will this forest become healthier and stronger? Human beings can do in a few minutes what would take nature hundreds of years to do it naturally. A forest taken care of in this way would become strong and healthy with time. A neglected forest would become weak and sick. Grandfather and the author invite us to become FULL-TIME CARETAKERS. Not part-time caretakers, only when it's convenient to you. Grandfather proposes that we are here to take care of nature, not to abuse it and exploit it for our convenience. This book is filled with so much gold, heartbreaking questions and beautiful stories. Have a listen to it and let me know what smashes your head. That's all for today. Love, |

10 years ago my heart shattered about life. The biggness of the world. My belonging in this world. The cruelty of human beings. The level of numbness that human beings use to survive in this world. Humans exploiting life, animals, plants and other human beings. The robotic way of spending a whole life working to make somebody else rich. The frantic zombie-like chase of money and success. I didn't know then, but I was grieving. A grief that was bigger than my being. An ancient grief that...
It’s May 20th. Today is my birthday, and I want to celebrate it this morning by writing in this space. For me, this writing space is about being at my edge. It’s also about sharing what I’ve been discovering and making invitations to be, play and work together. This week, I’ve been discovering how much of my orientation is about controlling what others think of me. The sensation is that I walk around not looking through my own eyes, but through the eyes of others looking back at me. It’s...
The Gameworld Builder training last month was devastating for me. But mostly it was expansive. What I thought was a Gameworld has shrunk and grown. I'm entering a completely new territory of Gameworld building. And I want you to come with me! Even as I'm writing this email, I keep coming back to these questions: ~ What is the quality of relating you want to cause in the world with your gameworld? ~ Is what you're doing right now leading to the kind of relating you want more of? ~ What kind of...
