A Cog In The Machine

Hey there!

It's Saturday morning here.

And this is what's been alive for me.

There’s a part of me which is so committed to being a cog in the machine.

And I’m done with it.

I’m throwing a wrench in that machine.

Clink!!!

Kong!!! Kung!!!

FANKHKHK!

IJJJHHHHHHHFF!

CUGHHHH! FAAAAHzzz!

BHURRRrrrbb…

Indigenous cultures are being hijacked and consumed by something called modern culture.

But modern culture is not actually a culture.

It's an anti-culture (as I learned from Ian MacKenzie).

Modern culture is a culture-devouring beast.

Its strategy is:

1) Weaken — Dominate and weaken the culture by any means.

2) Copy and Assimilate — Interpret, catalogue, categorize, mock, take what can be exploited, and take on the appearance of that culture.

3) Hollow out — Consume the culture from the inside out, but leave the shell, barely enough to appear as if alive.

This is a Zombie-Making, Parasitical strategy.

It's an anti-life agent that's leading to ecological suicide.

This is neither good nor bad.

And it poses the question: where do you stand?

As a human being born in modern anti-culture, I've been trained since birth to consume and devour cultures and anything that resembles life.

I have NOT been trained to give life, to create culture, or to have culture-to-culture conversations.

And yet, something inside me keeps shouting and screaming and kicking.

An inner knowing that giving life and creating culture is my potential.

And it's our true potential as human beings.

As a parent, trailblazing new ways of being in the world...

Zombie-making, mindless devouring, ecological suicide does NOT sound like what I want to create for me, for my children and the future generations.

Now, I leave you with this question:

Are you here to consume, devour and create zombies?

Or, are you here to create, invent and inspire creators?

Love,
Jorge

I've been listening to the audiobook Grandfather from Tom Brown Jr. This book, narrated by the author, is a gem for those seeking for answers about: ~ The role of human beings on Earth ~ What did it look like in north america before and while modern culture started taking over? ~ How is survival and living connected? ~ Are human beings a life taking parasite species? ~ What is really going on beyond what we were taught in school? ~ How do I live my vision and purpose? In the book, Grandfather...

10 years ago my heart shattered about life. The biggness of the world. My belonging in this world. The cruelty of human beings. The level of numbness that human beings use to survive in this world. Humans exploiting life, animals, plants and other human beings. The robotic way of spending a whole life working to make somebody else rich. The frantic zombie-like chase of money and success. I didn't know then, but I was grieving. A grief that was bigger than my being. An ancient grief that...

It’s May 20th. Today is my birthday, and I want to celebrate it this morning by writing in this space. For me, this writing space is about being at my edge. It’s also about sharing what I’ve been discovering and making invitations to be, play and work together. This week, I’ve been discovering how much of my orientation is about controlling what others think of me. The sensation is that I walk around not looking through my own eyes, but through the eyes of others looking back at me. It’s...
